Steel The Show were the first ever steel band to be established in the UK back in 1964!
Headed up the exceptionally talented Lionel McCalman, Steel The Show are a high energy and professional band with between 3 and 50 drummers collectively bringing the joyful sounds of the Caribbean to the UK.
Steel The Show are a traditional steel band who play with their pans hung from their necks. They have a vast rendition of tunes right the way through from Calypso to popular music combined with Caribbean rhythms.
Steel The Show are the annual leaders for Nottinghill Carnival where they recruit hundreds of drummers to join their cheerful procession. They have appeared on Big Brother, Celebrity Come Dine With Me and played for The Lords Show 2011, as well as featuring in the Olympic Opening Ceremony
in 2012!
