Roo is a London based vocalist currently touring with Florence and the Machine. She has performed at The Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks, on TV shows including Saturday Night Live and Jimmy Fallon, and Florence in her headline slot at Glastonbury Festival. Roo and her band have held a resident slot at the world famous 'Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club', for the last 6 years, where guests have in the past included Robert Glasper, Roy Hargrove, Ella Eyre and Lianne La Havas as well as touring bands who play for the likes of Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and many more.
Roo has provided backing vocals both live and in the studio to some of the biggest artists in the UK, as well as lead vocals for Hollywood movie soundtracks “I give it a year’ and ‘A little piece of heaven’, countless advertising campaigns including American Express, Playboy, Victoria’s Secret, Canon and Sainsbury’s, and lent her voice to TV shows both in the UK and the US, such as Mad Men, Made in Chelsea and the title music for ‘Luther’ for BBC Europe. She has also been a vocal scout for BBC 1’s ‘The Voice’ for the last 5 years, on the audition panel in the pre television stages.
Her band are made up of some of the finest musicians in the country, who have toured with the likes of Pixie Lott, Emeli Sande, David Guetta, Tulisa, Foxes, Jason Durelo and Plan B. They have also featured as house band at many private and corporate events, awards ceremonies and a residency at Radio 1xtra's 'Sunday Night Live' where they accompanied artists including Ed Sheeran.
The band cover a huge repertoire of songs from laid back jazz and blues, to current chart hits, rock, soul and funk covers. With a repertoire spanning hundreds of song choices, there is a set to suit anything from relaxed, background dinner music, to upbeat yet sophisticated party sets ; a fine selection of music to suit many occasions, all delivered as a slick and classy performance for a truly memorable show, with some of the most respected musicians in the country.
