Heart-stopping harmonies, hymns from the valleys, and upbeat pop songs are just a few things you will hear from Eschoir –a Welsh male choir in London that combines tradition with city-slicker vitality. The home of Eschoir is the Borough Welsh Chapel near London Bridge, where hymns such as Cwm Rhondda and Calon Lân are finessed with soaring tenors and roaring basses for concerts at the Houses of Parliament, the Foreign Office and television adverts including ITV’s MySupermarket.co.uk!
Eschoir recently performed for David Cameron at the NATO summit celebrations, and at 10 Downing St, the retirement reception of the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace, and 80,000 rugby fans at the Millennium Stadium during the Wales v Italy game. Their most memorable venture, however, was performing at the British Embassy and a university in Tbilisi, Georgia, last summer, where they were hosted by the British ambassador Alexandra Hall.
