Activity Summary
The Mall Walthamstow was looking to provide fun imagination filled workshops for children throughout the summer holidays.
Kru Solution
We created a diverse range of workshops for childrens entertainment.
One of the workshops we devised was a gardening workshop which ran over five days in the shopping centre.
We provided a gardening workshop leader who had a DBS ( disclosure and barring service) check which means they have been vetted to work with children.
The gardening workshop engaged with children in planting flowers, fruit and vegetables.
Children were taught the art of growing their own food which lead to a greater understanding of the food chain and and an increase of respect for the planet and nature.
The children who attended the workshop were given a token of the seed they had planted in a pot to take home.
Results
Out of the 54 people given surveys about the workshop 52 stated they would come to The Mall more often if they had more events targeted at children.
Over the 5 day workshop over 284 children took part in the activities.
