Activity Summary
Bovingdon’s came to KruTalent with a challenge: to source entertainers for the owners 50th birthday party. It was also her daughters 21st and her sons 18th so it needed to suit all age groups. Julie is in the industry and personally organises events in the mansion every weekend, it was therefore imperative this was something different and something which impressed both her and her guests.
Her children also really wanted to have ‘thank you’ speeches but her husband was shy and she thought it was cheesy. KruTalent were therefore tasked to find an alternative to this traditional past time.
Kru Solution
After sussing out the venue, learning a little more about the son & daughter and truly honing in on the brief, one thing became clear- they all loved to party! Kru instantly set to work looking through their collection of DJ’s and shortlisting potentials, until it dawned on them ‘Djam’ was the answer! A lively, dance floor filing, super energised DJ with live drums and instruments played over the top. It was a long evening so a progressive set was created beginning with a chilled Cafe Del Mar style opener, gradually leading up to a full powered dance set.
Combating the old with the new? KruTalent replaced the conventional tradition of speeches with a live spontaneous poet! He drew in the audiences with personal anecdotes and reminiscing moments.
